Gugulethu Mbatha (better known by the name Gugu-Mbatha Raw) is a British film and stage actress known for her role in the film industry after she appeared in the BBC show "Doctor Who" which is a British sci-fi TV show. Gugu achieved a lot of recognition for her role as Tish Jones, the daughter of the main character, Martha Jones, in the show. Handler was forced to become an actress in order to survive. But, at age 21, Handler decided to pursue stand-up comedy as a full-time profession since she discovered her storytelling skills. Handler began her professional career joining the all-female Oxygen team, and was a part of a television show named Girls Behaving BADLY. The show was renowned for its hidden camera and the practical joke. Between 2002 and 2005, the series aired. Handler began appearing on various other programs such including Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler started working as a correspondent on The Tonight Show as a reporter. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006 when she began running her own talk show for E! called The Chelsea Handler Show. The Chelsea Handler show ran for two years. Handler was a part of the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the following time in the United States. Her stand-up performances have been broadcast on VH1 as well as Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and HBO. In 2010 it was announced that the MTV Video Music Awards 2010 were made public. The only woman ever to host the VMAs following Roseanne Bar.
