Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is famous for her performance in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano was a huge success and won her many awards including an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her acting career on the stage with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. From her early years she's been enthusiastic about performing. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. In the aftermath of suffering from Mumps, she was deaf on the one side of her ear. The deafness didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to be an actress. She studied drama at college, and then moved from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dream. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. After moving from Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged an acting role as a support for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in a variety of shows and TV films over an extensive career that spans more than a quarter century. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
